#104 Paula Choice Omega+ Complex range - Yay or Nay?
We all know Omega 3 and 6 are essential fatty acids our body cannot produce and is perhaps one of the mostly commonly supplement taken orally. I was quite curious about the Paula Choice Omega+ Complex line, a line dedicated on Omegas as star ingredients. Having used 2 tubs of the Omega+ Complex Eye Cream in the past, I am really curious in exploring the other products in the franchise.
Used topically, Omega-3 works on softening rough, dry skin and soothing irritation by boosting hydration, help fend off breakouts and visibly reduce signs of aging. While Omega-6 improves moisture retention, Omega-9 is essential for helping to restore and maintain skin’s elasticity once damaged. Concentrated levels of Omega fatty acids help replenish dull, dehydrated skin, revive a beautifully smooth, supple feeling, plus visibly soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The key word is fortifying a healthy skin barrier.
Omega+ Complex Cleansing Balm is very lovely. It’s giving me Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing balm vibe, an icon and classic when it comes to cleansing balm, but with a softer and creamier texture. Worry not that it is nowhere greasy, but more like a soft wax with spreadability of an oily balm. I like the soft tub packaging as dispensing product is *chef kiss*. I place it on the basin outside of the shower as first cleanse always happen outside of shower. A dollop goes onto dry skin, emulsify with water and remove completely clean with either a wash cloth or rinse off.
Omega+ Complex Serum – contains the signature Omega 3, 6 & 9, Ceramides, Hyaluronic Acid and Shea Butter. Weirdly, this serum sting / tingle (depending on how impaired my barrier is) on post-retinoid face. I’ve used it in place of a hydration serum, on top of an active (mostly) or alone and find it work best only when my skin is balanced and not aggravated.
Omega+ Complex Eye Cream is my favourite child in the franchise. The cloud like soft cream texture has the perfect balance of hydration and moisture and works very well to nourish my very dry eye area. Many eye cream targeting dry eye areas are often greasy and heavy, which can be unhelpful as the product gravitate around and eventually shift make up (if you are a make-up wearer), or get into the eyes. It is very obvious by now that I’ll continue to repurchase this product.
Omega+ Complex Moisturizer – this is another awkward product. It goes on and feel like a dry-skin moisturiser (as marketed), but does not keep the skin to stay nourished. This is a moisturiser you will need to top up if you are very dry. If you have balanced skin or oily skin, this might work just nice.
The entire Omega+ Complex franchise is rather lovely, though I find the serum and moisturiser best suited for skins other than mine. I am just curious on where does the franchise differentiate among Paula Choice’s array product lines that were already built specifically for every skin type and condition. The CALM and DEFENCE range for example would’ve deliver similar results with Omega+ Complex range.
