#84 Skincare Routine - April 2024
April’s weather reached another level. It is inferno every single day. If budget is not a concern I’d very much like to just quarantine in an air conditioned room. I am barely out from the house. I think the sun would literally dissolve me. I am constantly sweating and skincare is no longer enjoyable. Skincare got wiped off after 2 minutes because I am just constantly sweating. I only do a proper routine in the evening, when I have the air conditioning on full blast after a shower.
So this month’s skincare routine is all about minimal and yet being effective.
Lagom Cellup Gel to Water Cleanser – I am on a little k-beauty shopping spree recently. Well... I should not really when I look into my stash. Found this minimalist looking brand online and bought it at a good deal. Gel to water is a delightful texture for a cleanser – it’s light, refreshing and does the job. Brand says I could use it both first and second cleanse, I’ve only use it as a skin cleanser (second cleanse). It is a tad drying for my skin for everyday use. It does dehydrate the skin a little more, but it is somehow brilliant during the sweaty weather to take away extra gunk and sebum. A tub wouldn’t go a very long way, it doesn’t not foam and lather - think like cream cleanser, but in a gel texture. I wouldn’t repurchase at its original retain price. I’d recommend for oily skin people.
Zelens Provitamin D3 Mist – the mist that came to say sorry and instantly put off fire after I intentionally dehydrated my skin with a strong cleanser.
Thank You Farmer Phyto Relieful Cica Ampoule – this month, I just want a light hydrating serum. My skin don’t need anymore nourishment, the humidity from the air and a moisturiser is quite sufficient for me to last through a night with air-conditioner on full blast. The serum features brand’s “8-Relieful Complex” and Centella Asiatica Extract aiming at soothing and calming irritated skin. I find the very lightweight, almost watery texture perfect for a hydrating routine. Will try it a little bit more to report back, my skin is loving the product so far.
Tatcha The Silk Serum – I like to double serum, you don’t need to, I am extra. This is a mini size from last year’s Christmas and I am using it sparingly. Tatcha products do cost a kidney.
Kate Sommerville +Retinol Vitamin C Moisturiser – I still want to keep my retinoid journey going. The thought of layering retinoid serum and then a thick cream suffocates me. So, a retinoid moisturiser after light layers of hydrating serums do the trick! This is a very strong retinoid moisturiser, I still cannot work up to daily use and I am already a seasoned retinoid user !
